How the ERP selector scores products
The rules behind “Which ERP suits you?”: what counts as evidence, how must-haves filter, how preferences are scored and what we do not claim.
Kodenova is an SAP Business One engineering studio. This tool recommends other ERPs where they fit better. No vendor pays for placement.
Must-haves: pass, fail or unverified
Each must-have gets one of three states. Pass: a current source supports this exact product edition, country and function. Fail: a documented limit conflicts with the requirement. Unverified: the evidence is missing, generic, for another edition or only a roadmap promise.
Only products that pass every must-have enter the verified shortlist. A fail removes the product. Unverified products stay visible in a separate “needs validation” list with the missing evidence named; they are never labelled non-compliant, and a must-have is never relaxed silently. If nothing passes, the tool says “no verified match yet” and shows what is missing.
What “unknown” means
Unknown means the fact was not established in the sources we reviewed. It never means the product lacks the feature. A value without a source is treated like unknown, and an unknown value can never pass a must-have.
Preference score: a range, not a single number
Each preference you answered gets its weight, split equally across the options you picked. A sourced match scores 1, an explicit mismatch scores 0 and an unknown stays unknown. The weights are normalised over all applicable preferences, unknowns included.
The low end of the range counts only proven matches; the high end assumes every unknown turns out to be a match. Evidence coverage is the share of your weights with evidence. Example: 60% matched, 10% mismatched and 30% unknown is shown as 60–90 with 70% coverage, not as an 86% match.
Overlapping ranges are not a reliable ranking. Use them to decide which products to validate next. Research confidence and popularity add nothing to the score.
E-invoicing claims
Compliance cells are read as a status (native, certified, via partner) plus a scope note. A vendor-maintained module may still need a certification or transport provider. A partner route counts only if you said a partner connector is acceptable.
A compliance row passes a must-have only when it has been verified for that edition. Unverified vendor claims stay unverified: the version, document types, entitlement and production route still need checking. Directory listings, VAT support, a translated website or a QR code on the invoice are not accepted as proof. Country rules are stored as data (country, regime, status, scope, sources), so new countries and regimes are added without changing the tool.
Prices
Only published list prices are shown, with amount, unit, currency and the date we saw them. We compare a price with your budget only when it is published in the same currency; we never convert with an invented exchange rate.
A published minimum above your budget can fail a budget must-have. A licence that fits stays unverified, because implementation, add-ons, hosting and fiscal-service fees are usually not published. A zero licence price for self-hosted software is not an operating cost.
The data
The dataset has 270 product editions and 45 country rule sets, researched from public vendor and authority sources and last verified on October 31, 2026. Every populated field links to its own source. 146 records have partial research and are scored; 124 are identified by name only and listed as “not yet assessed”. Coverage is still deepest for the Gulf, Latin America and South Asia; other regions are being added.
Confidence today: 209 low, 51 medium and 10 high. 81 records are accounting or specialist suites and are labelled that way, never as full ERPs. Typical user counts, company size ranges, implementation costs and partner strength were not invented where no source exists.
Neutrality and corrections
Kodenova is an SAP Business One engineering studio. This tool recommends other ERPs where they fit better. No vendor pays for placement, and SAP Business One is scored with the same rules as every other product.
Every product has the same “Report a correction” link. Factual changes need public evidence, and each data release carries a new version and date.
Privacy
The selector runs in your browser. Your answers are kept in the page address and in local storage on your device; they are not sent to Kodenova. There is no email gate, and the share link contains only your answers. The site uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that count visits in aggregate and never see your answers.
The 15 questions and their default weights
Weights total 100. You can change them on the results page; they are re-normalised over the questions you answered. Must-haves are filters, so they carry no weight.
