SAP Business One customer portal for B2B ordering.

In shortA SAP Business One customer portal is a B2B ordering website where each customer logs in, sees its own prices, stock availability, orders, invoices and account statement, and places orders that are created in SAP Business One as sales orders or sales quotations. Kodenova builds these portals on the Service Layer, with several users per customer, approval rules and optional online payment through a payment gateway you choose. Fixed price per phase, 3 months of free post-go-live support, and the client owns the code.

How does a portal order reach SAP Business One?

When the customer submits the cart, the portal creates a sales order, or a sales quotation if you want to confirm first, in SAP Business One through the Service Layer, under the customer’s business partner code. SAP Business One validates the document as it would in the client, the SAP document number is shown to the customer, and later steps in SAP, such as delivery and invoicing, appear in the portal as order status.

Which price does the customer see?

The price SAP Business One would use for that customer: the price list on the business partner, plus special prices and discount groups if you use them. We agree the price logic in the specification and test it against prices your sales team quotes, including header discounts, before any customer logs in.

How do online payments work in the portal?

The portal hands the payment to a payment gateway that you contract; card details are entered on the gateway’s side, not stored by the portal. When the gateway confirms the payment, the portal records it in SAP Business One as an incoming payment against the invoice, so finance reconciles in one place. Which gateways are available depends on your country and bank.

FAQ

SAP Business One customer portal: common questions

Can each customer see its own prices in the portal?

Yes. The portal uses the price SAP Business One would use for that customer: the price list on the business partner, plus special prices and discount groups if you use them. The price logic is agreed in the specification and tested against your sales team’s quotes.

Are portal orders created as sales orders or quotations in SAP Business One?

Either, as you choose. Orders can go straight in as sales orders, or as sales quotations that your team confirms and copies to a sales order. Both are created through the Service Layer under the customer’s business partner code.

Can the portal show live stock?

Yes. Availability is read from SAP Business One per item and warehouse. You decide whether customers see the exact quantity or a simple in stock, low or on request status, and which warehouses count.

Can several people from one customer use the portal?

Yes. Each customer can have several users with different rights, for example one who orders, one who approves orders above a limit and one who only sees invoices and statements.

Can customers pay invoices online in the portal?

Yes, through a payment gateway that you contract. Card details are entered on the gateway’s side; confirmed payments are recorded in SAP Business One as incoming payments against the invoice.

Does each portal customer need a SAP Business One licence?

It depends on your SAP agreement and on how the portal uses SAP Business One, so we do not give a general rule. Check it with your SAP partner before the build; we design the integration to match the licensing model you agree with them.
