What is the SAP Business One Service Layer?
It is the official REST (OData) API of SAP Business One. You log in with POST /b1s/v1/Login, receive a B1SESSION cookie, and then read or write documents, business partners and items with normal HTTP requests.
Why does the connection test fail even though Postman works?
Browsers block calls to another website unless the server allows it (CORS), and they reject self-signed certificates. Open the Service Layer URL once in a new tab to trust the certificate, and enable CORS in the Service Layer configuration for this site, or use the PowerShell or cURL command, which run on your own computer.
Is my password sent to Kodenova?
No. The builder runs in your browser. The password field is used only for the test request, which goes directly from your browser to your own Service Layer. It is never saved and never placed in the generated code.
Why do I only get 20 records back?
Service Layer pages results, 20 records by default. Add the header Prefer: odata.maxpagesize=100 (the builder adds it when $top is above 20) or follow the odata.nextLink in the response.
What is the difference between b1s/v1 and b1s/v2?
v1 uses OData v3 conventions and v2 uses OData v4. Most examples online use v1. Both work on recent SAP B1 versions; choose the one your add-ons already use.
