SAP Business One Shopify integration.

In shortKodenova builds Shopify to SAP Business One integrations: items, prices and stock per warehouse flow to the store, and orders, customers, payments and refunds flow back as sales orders, invoices and credit memos. Documents are written through the Service Layer, never with direct SQL. Fixed price per phase, 3 months of free support, and you own the code.
What’s included

What we build.

Products and SKU mapping

Each Shopify product variant is matched to an SAP Business One item code. Item master data flows from SAP to the store, and a variant with no matching item is reported instead of guessed.

Prices and price lists

Prices from one or more SAP price lists published to the store, including different prices per customer group or per market where your SAP setup uses them.

Stock per warehouse and location

Available stock is read per warehouse from SAP and sent to the matching Shopify location. You choose which warehouses are sellable and whether committed stock is deducted.

Orders into SAP

Each Shopify order becomes a sales order, or an A/R invoice where that is your process, created through SAP’s own validation, with the Shopify order ID stored on the document.

Customers and business partners

A Shopify customer is matched to an existing business partner or created as a new one by your rules, with guest checkout optionally posted to one shared customer.

Payments

Payments taken in Shopify are recorded in SAP as incoming payments against the invoice, so receivables reconcile without manual entry.

Refunds and returns

A Shopify refund is posted as an A/R credit memo (or a return, if your process uses returns), linked back to the original order.

Fulfilment back to Shopify

Delivery and tracking details from SAP are sent back to the order in Shopify, so customers see the status without a phone call.

Error queue, retries and logs

Every order and update is logged. A failed one waits in an error queue with the reason and can be fixed and replayed by your team.

Process

How a project runs.

  1. Discovery: a free discovery call about your Shopify store (or stores), your SAP Business One setup (SQL Server or HANA, version, warehouses, price lists) and how orders are handled today.
  2. Specification: what syncs in which direction and how often, how SKUs, locations, tax codes, shipping and payment methods map to SAP, and what happens on errors, written into the proposal with a fixed price per phase.
  3. Build: the integration service, with weekly demos on a test company and a development store, never on your live data first.
  4. Testing: real order scenarios: partial stock, partial shipments, refunds, guest and returning customers, repeated webhooks, and retries after an error.
  5. Go-live: initial item and stock load, cut-over, and close watch on the first live orders.
  6. Support: 3 months of free support after go-live: fixes and small adjustments, then optional monthly support.

What syncs between Shopify and SAP Business One?

From SAP to Shopify: items, prices, and stock per warehouse. From Shopify to SAP: orders as sales orders or A/R invoices, customers as business partners, payments as incoming payments, and refunds as credit memos. Fulfilment and tracking go back to the order in Shopify.

Direction and timing are agreed per data type in the specification, because they depend on who owns each piece of data in your business. For example, SAP usually owns prices and stock, while Shopify owns the order until it is accepted into SAP.

Wider e-commerce integration (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento) →

Shopify connector app, integration platform or custom build: which fits?

A connector app from the Shopify ecosystem is the quickest start when your setup is standard: one price list, one warehouse, simple orders, and you are happy with the app’s fixed mapping. An integration platform (iPaaS) gives configurable prebuilt flows, usually on a subscription, and suits teams that run several integrations on one platform. Both can struggle once your rules stop fitting their templates.

A custom integration through the Service Layer fits when the rules are your own: B2B or customer-specific prices, stock across several warehouses and locations, special tax or rounding rules, approval before an order reaches SAP, several stores or currencies, or when you want to own the code. We say so on the discovery call if a ready-made option covers your case.

What goes wrong in Shopify to SAP Business One syncs?

SKU mapping: a Shopify variant SKU that does not equal an SAP item code is the most common break. We keep an explicit mapping, report unmatched variants and never guess. Multi-location stock: Shopify tracks inventory per location, so each location is mapped to the right warehouse, using stock per warehouse from SAP rather than the item total.

Taxes and rounding: tax and rounding on a Shopify order can differ by a cent from what SAP calculates for the same lines, so the tax code mapping and the rounding rule are agreed and tested, not assumed. Duplicate orders: webhooks can be delivered more than once, so the Shopify order ID is stored on the SAP document and checked before every create. That makes a repeat delivery or a retry harmless.

Can several Shopify stores or currencies share one SAP Business One company?

Yes, by design. Each store is mapped to its own settings in the integration: price list, currency, warehouses, tax codes and the customer used for guest checkout. Orders from all stores land in the same SAP company, tagged with the store they came from, so reports can be split by store.

The exact setup, such as one SAP price list per market and how exchange rates are handled, is decided in the specification from your SAP currency and price list configuration.

Who owns the Shopify integration code?

You do. After each paid phase the client owns the source code, database and documentation, so you can keep maintaining it with your own team or your SAP Business One partner, or ask us to keep supporting it. Kodenova is independent and works alongside your SAP partner.

FAQ

SAP Business One Shopify integration: common questions

Does SAP Business One have a native Shopify integration?

No. SAP Business One does not include a Shopify connection out of the box. You connect it with a connector app, an integration platform, or a custom integration built on the Service Layer. Which one fits depends on how standard your prices, warehouses and order rules are.

How do Shopify orders become sales orders in SAP Business One?

The integration receives the order from Shopify, matches or creates the business partner, maps each variant SKU to an item code, and creates the sales order through the Service Layer. The Shopify order ID is stored on the document, so the same order is never created twice.

How is stock kept in sync with several Shopify locations?

Stock is read per warehouse from SAP Business One and sent to the matching Shopify location, not as one item total. Which warehouses are sellable, and whether committed stock is deducted, is decided in the specification and tested before go-live.

How do you avoid duplicate orders from Shopify webhooks?

Webhooks can arrive more than once, so before creating a document the integration checks whether the Shopify order ID already exists on an SAP document. If it does, the repeat is ignored. Failed orders wait in an error queue and are retried or replayed.

Can Shopify refunds create credit memos in SAP Business One?

Yes. A refund in Shopify can be posted as an A/R credit memo linked to the original invoice, or as a return if your process uses returns. Partial refunds are part of the test scenarios, and the rule you choose is written into the specification.

Does it work with SQL Server and SAP HANA?

Yes. The integration talks to the Service Layer and the DI API, not to the database, so it behaves the same on SQL Server and on SAP HANA. Any SQL used for reporting is written for the database you run.

Is Kodenova an SAP partner?

No. Kodenova is independent and works alongside your SAP partner. Your partner keeps the licences and the SAP Business One system; we specify, build, test and support the integration between your Shopify store and SAP, and you own the code.
