How a project runs.
- Free discovery call: we talk through the systems involved, your SAP Business One version, your database (SQL Server or HANA) and your SAP partner’s role, and say honestly whether we can help.
- Scope and fixed price: the work is split into phases. Each phase has a written scope, an interface list and a fixed price, quoted after the discovery call.
- Access and NDA: we sign an NDA if you need one and agree remote access to a test company, plus sandbox accounts for the store, EDI provider or bank.
- Build with weekly demos: you see working integrations every week, with test documents flowing end to end.
- Test and go-live: every interface is tested on the test company with your team, then released to production together with your SAP partner, with documentation.
- 3 months of free support: fixes and small adjustments to what we delivered are free for 3 months after go-live, and you own the code.
What does a SAP Business One integration developer do?
In a US company, SAP Business One rarely runs alone. Orders come from Shopify or WooCommerce, purchase orders arrive by EDI, payments leave as bank files and sales tax depends on the ship-to address. An integration developer connects those systems to SAP Business One through supported interfaces, so every document passes SAP’s own validation instead of being written to the database with SQL.
Kodenova is an independent, founder-led team led by Zain Abbas, with 7+ years on SAP Business One and ERP projects and clients in 13 countries. In the United States we are building a WhatsApp AI sales and purchasing agent tied to the ERP of a trading company; it is still in delivery, so no results are claimed yet.
Should we use B1iF or the Service Layer?
The SAP Business One Integration Framework (B1iF) is SAP’s scenario-based integration platform for SAP Business One. If you already run B1iF scenarios, we can read, fix and extend them. For new integrations we usually recommend the Service Layer, SAP’s REST API for SAP Business One, because it is easier to test and monitor and it runs SAP’s business logic on every write.
The DI API still fits some desktop add-ons and older setups. We choose per interface and write the reason into the design document, so your SAP partner can follow it.
Can you connect Shopify, WooCommerce and EDI to SAP Business One?
Yes. For Shopify and WooCommerce, a small integration service moves items, stock and prices to the store and brings orders, customers and payments back into SAP Business One. For EDI, we build the SAP Business One side of documents such as the 850 purchase order, 856 ship notice and 810 invoice, working with the EDI provider or VAN you already use.
Each document is logged, retried on error and visible to your team, so a failed order does not disappear between two systems.
Can you automate bank statements and ACH payments?
Yes, as integration work. We import bank statement files (BAI2, CSV or your bank’s own format) for reconciliation in SAP Business One, and generate outgoing payment files, such as NACHA ACH files, from SAP Business One payment runs to your bank’s specification.
Your bank and your SAP partner confirm the file format and the approval steps before go-live. Payment files are tested with the bank’s test process before any real payment is sent.
How does SAP Business One handle US sales tax?
The USA localization calculates sales and use tax from jurisdictions combined into tax codes, picked from the ship-to address, and SAP documents a Tax Service with Avalara Rates by Address. For full tax engines, documents created through the DI API or Service Layer can carry tax calculated outside SAP Business One.
We do not sell a tax engine, file returns or give tax advice. We build validation rules, such as blocking an exempt invoice without a valid certificate, and the integration hooks. Nexus, registrations and filings stay with your tax adviser.
How do you work with our SAP partner?
Kodenova is independent and works alongside your SAP partner. Your partner keeps the licences, the implementation, upgrades and SAP’s standard support. We build the integrations and custom code around it and stay inside SAP’s supported interfaces: Service Layer, DI API, UI API, B1iF, user-defined fields and tables, and TransactionNotification.
In practice we agree the scope with you and your partner, develop on a test company, share the interface documentation and test upgrades together. US partners can also bring us in as extra integration capacity for one of their customers.
How does remote work from Pakistan fit US hours?
Pakistan is UTC+5 and does not change its clocks. That puts Lahore 10 hours ahead of US Eastern time in winter and 9 hours in summer. The live overlap is the Eastern morning, roughly 8:00 to 12:00 ET, which is our evening. With the West Coast it is an hour or two in your early morning.
Lahore mornings fall in the US evening and night, so a problem you report at the end of your day is worked on while you sleep. Most projects run with a short daily or weekly call and written updates in between.

Do you have clients in the United States?
Yes. Kodenova is building a WhatsApp AI sales and purchasing agent for a US agricultural trading company. It replies to customers, sends invoices and statements from the ERP and negotiates purchases within set limits. The project is still in delivery, so no results are claimed yet. Kodenova has clients in 13 countries.
Is Kodenova an SAP partner?
No. Kodenova is independent and works alongside your SAP partner. Your partner keeps the licences, the implementation, upgrades and SAP’s standard support. We build and support the custom code around it: integrations, add-ons, reports, portals and AI agents. You talk directly to the developer who builds your solution.
Can you work with our existing B1iF scenarios?
Yes. We can read, fix and extend existing SAP Business One Integration Framework scenarios. For a new integration we compare B1iF with a Service Layer service and recommend one in writing, based on your SAP Business One version, your database, the volumes and who will maintain it after go-live.
Do you set up Avalara or calculate sales tax for us?
No. We do not sell a tax engine, file returns or give tax advice. On the SAP Business One side we build validation rules and integration hooks, and documents created through the DI API or Service Layer can carry tax from an external engine. Ask the tax engine vendor whether a ready SAP Business One connector exists.
How much does SAP Business One development cost with Kodenova?
Work runs as a fixed price per phase, quoted after a free discovery call. Each phase has a written scope and a price agreed before work starts, with weekly demos. Every project includes 3 months of free support after go-live, and you own the source code and documentation after each paid phase.
What hours do you work with US teams?
We work from Lahore, 9 to 10 hours ahead of US Eastern time depending on the season. Live calls fit the Eastern morning, which is our evening, and the West Coast overlap is an hour or two. Lahore mornings fall in your night, so issues you report in the evening are worked on while you sleep.
