¿Cómo se valida el dígito verificador del DUI?
Multiply the first eight digits by 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 and 2, add the results, and the check digit is (10 − sum mod 10) mod 10.
¿Se puede usar el DUI como NIT en El Salvador?
Yes. For natural persons the DUI was homologated as NIT, so on DTE documents a person can be identified with the DUI. Companies keep their 14-digit NIT.
Does the tool verify the NIT check digit?
It checks the 14-digit structure and that the middle six digits are a real date (ddmmyy). The official NIT check digit rule is not public in a reliable form, so the tool does not mark a NIT as wrong because of it.
